UCI START-UP RECEIVES OVER $1.3 MILLION IN CUSTOMER CONTRACTS

3/15/2018

Irvine, California: UCI Start-up Integra Devices leverages 15 years and $20 M of research from the University of California, Irvine to introduce a new manufacturing platform for device miniaturization. With over $1.3 million of contracts in a short timeframe from some of the largest market leaders and innovators, the company is demonstrating disruptive micro-device products.
“We are thrilled to be working with industry innovators in developing solutions that push the frontier of emerging markets forward”, states Sourabh Dhillon, Director of Business Development. “Our technology allows us to miniaturize like never before and cost-effectively batch manufacture devices that interface with the outside world. This enables markets such as VR, Iot, 5G telecomm, biomedical, and many more.”

Integra holds extensive capabilities in design, modeling, fabrication, and characterization of micro-devices and a first-class team of engineers and PhDs possessing extensive background in biomedical, materials, electrical, microwave/mm-wave, micro-mechanical, micro-machining and manufacturing disciplines. These research engineers have access to world class clean-rooms, state-of-the-art test and measurement facilities, and a rich culture of interdisciplinary innovation.

“Research and innovation is the corner-stone of UC Irvine” states Richard Sudek, Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director at UCI Applied Innovation. “Being a major research university, we've had the benefit of proximity to pioneering microelectronic powerhouses such as Broadcom, Conexant, and many more. With significant investments from microelectronic R&D labs, the university has spent millions of dollars and decades of research on the innovation of methods, materials, and approaches. Integra Devices represents the culmination of this work and we are very proud to be a part of an industry breakthrough as Integra introduces this new paradigm shift to the market through products that they have commercialized.”
